Treatment Unit

The Treatment Unit provides outpatient and intensive outpatient programs for individuals seeking help with substance abuse/addiction issues.  People of all ages, including children, are eligible if they have problems associated with chemical abuse; are involved with a person abusing chemicals; are experiencing problems that are a result of past chemical or substance abuse; or have a need for counseling & urine testing.
 

Some of the referral sources for treatment are:
  • Self-referrals
  • Court-ordered (DUI, probation, parole)
  • Referrals for aftercare (from treatment facilities, detox, etc.)
  • Employee Assistance Programs
  • Adolescents (from CYS/JPO, placement facilities, schools, SAP, family)

Services:

Outpatient Detoxification Treatment Offered 
This program is appropriate for opiate dependent individuals who want to detoxify while still living at home, and have strong home support.

Children of Alcoholics (COA) 
This program will serve residing Fayette County children or adolescents who have COA issues.  The individual can be 17 years of age or younger, and must be able to understand the reasons for their treatment.

Underage Curriculum for Adolescent Needs (UCAN) 
This 5 day prevention program will assist adolescents in re-evaluating their decision to turn to alcohol, drugs and/or tobacco at such an early and illegal age.  More

Mental Illness/Substance Abuse (MISA)
Specialized coordinated services are offered for adults experiencing both mental health problems and substance abuse problems.

Gambling Addiction
We offer outpatient treatment for those with compulsive gambling problems.  We provide counseling to the gambler, and to the gambler's family and/or friends.  We have three counselors that have been specially trained and certified in gambling addiction treatment by the state of Pennsylvania.
