Education, Resources, and Support for a Healthier Community
Fayette County Drug & Alcohol Commission’s Prevention Unit provides school-based programs, community education, awareness campaigns, and prevention resources to help individuals, families, schools, and organizations make informed choices and strengthen community well-being.

Prevention Starts with Connection and Education
Prevention is about more than sharing information. It is about helping people, families, schools, and communities build knowledge, strengthen protective factors, and create supportive environments where healthier choices are possible.
Our Prevention Unit offers evidence-based programs, classroom education, small group educational sessions, one-time presentations, community outreach, awareness activities, and resources related to alcohol, tobacco, other drugs, problem gambling, treatment, and current drug trends.
What Prevention Services Can Help With
Prevention services are designed for schools, families, youth-serving organizations, community groups, professionals, and residents across Fayette County.
Programs and presentations for students, educators, and school communities. Services may include classroom programs, small group sessions, and evidence-based prevention education.
Education, outreach, and programs for families, community groups, workplaces, agencies, and local organizations. Topics may include substance use prevention, tobacco cessation, problem gambling, parenting support, and community wellness.
